The Mann Center for the Performing Arts commissioned the performance of Angel's Bone. This theatrical chamber work by Shanghai-born and New York-based composer, multi-instrumentalist and performance artist Du Yun incorporated elements of classical music, electronica, cabaret, and storytelling. The work, inspired by the writing of Jorge Luis Borges, was premiered by ICE (the International Contemporary Ensemble), Du Yun, and DJ/electronic artist Phil Moffa. During their time in Philadelphia, Du Yun and ICE also presented educational programs at Girard Academic Music Program, CAPA High School, University of the Arts, Temple University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
