As executive director, Paula is responsible for leading every aspect of the Center’s work—grantmaking programs, administration, and communications—and ensuring that the Center fulfills its mission and meets its strategic goals. Trained as an art historian, she was a curator of contemporary art at two university galleries, and an art critic for Artforum magazine, among other publications, before joining the Center. She has also conceived and edited several anthologies on curatorial practice. She currently serves on the boards of the Marion Boulton Stroud Foundation and the Hauser & Wirth Institute.

Gianna manages financial and administrative functions across the Center in support of the executive director. Her areas of responsibility include policy and compliance, facilities and operations, grants administration, IT, and human resources. Gianna moved from New York to Philadelphia in 2006 to attend graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania and has been at the Center since 2011.

Bailey supports the Center's grants administration, working directly with grantees to manage day-to-day reporting and contracts. Before joining the Center, she held positions at Fleisher Art Memorial and the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia. Bailey has a BS in industrial design from Drexel University, where she also studied art history and fine arts. She is currently practicing printmaking and learning about book arts.

Ellen provides day-to-day support to the Center’s executive director, coordinating high-level scheduling and the “stage management” of our offices. Having been with the Center since its founding, she is our in-house expert on all things delicious food, convenient travel, radical hospitality, and creative planning.

Heidie supports the Center’s day-to-day operations and administration. In close cooperation with the CAO and Executive Coordinator, she oversees the Center's main calendar, coordinates vendor relationships, accommodates Center constituents, and assists staff with office technology. Prior to joining the Center, Heidie served as digital studio technician at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, educating students on artwork documentation and facilitating fine-art printing. Having received her BFA in photography & digital arts from Moore College of Art & Design, Heidie continues to practice as a freelance photographer, visual artist, and community outreach organizer.
