The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts presented The Andersen Project, a multi-media theater work created by Québec-based artist Robert Lepage. Taking inspiration from stories written by famed Danish author Hans Christian Andersen and anecdotes drawn from his Parisian travels, this one-man performance starring French-Canadian actor Yves Jacques juxtaposed past and present, Romanticism and Modernism, and established and underground art forms.

Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is one of the most well-attended cultural venues in Philadelphia. Resident companies at the Kimmel include The Philadelphia Orchestra, Opera Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, and Philadelphia Ballet.
