Lê Thi Diem Thúy is a poet, novelist, and performer who speaks eloquently on the intangibles of the artistic process. When she was at the Center recently, we asked her, “How does an artist’s approach to working evolve over time?” She replied with a short monologue on creativity as an embrace of “not knowing.”
Born in southern Vietnam and raised in southern California, Lê Thi Diem Thúy explores the role of the body as the site of memory. Her awards include fellowships from the Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program, the Guggenheim Foundation, and United States Artists.
