This grant supported the restaging of dances with new recordings by the orchestra of the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company, Kiev, in preparation for national and international tours. Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble has emerged as one of the foremost dance companies in the Ukrainian diaspora, and maintains close artistic ties with Virsky, the world's leading Ukrainian folkloric dance company. The grant also supported rescaling of Voloshky's repertory dances for suitability in smaller venues, as well as new music recordings of the highest technical and artistic caliber.

Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble promotes artistic exchange and dialogue between Ukrainians and the global community through dance. The company’s performances combine Ukrainian and American aesthetics, drawing upon classical, contemporary, and folkloric dance forms to create meaningful, transcultural experiences.
