Roxane Gay is a renowned writer and professor whose work addresses issues of race, gender identity, and sexuality. She is the author of The New York Times best-selling essay collection Bad Feminist (2014), the memoir Hunger (2017), the short story collections Difficult Women (2017) and Ayiti (2011), and the novel An Untamed State (2014). Gay’s writing has appeared in Best American Mystery Stories, Best American Short Stories, A Public Space, American Short Fiction, and many others. She is also a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and the author of the Marvel comic book World of Wakanda. In 2012, Gay contributed to the Center’s essay series Push Me, Pull You: Questions of Co-Authorship.
