Tanya Bowers served as a Center heritage panelist in 2012. In January 2009, Bowers came on as the director for diversity at the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Washington, D.C. headquarters. Located in the office of the President, the office of diversity initiatives aids the Trust in engaging America's diverse communities in preserving and sharing the stories and places that matter to them. Serving as an internal consultant for diversity, Bowers helps all departments leverage diversity in their work so that historic preservation is enriched by embracing the full range of American cultural experiences. For over 13 years, Bowers has been a diversity practitioner and a consultant in organizational development designing programs and leading workshops in diversity training, strategic planning, leadership development, and team-building.
