Sarah Lutman has worked in the arts and nonprofit sector for the past 35 years, starting as a professional bassoonist. Since then she has been an arts manager at small nonprofits in the Bay Area, a foundation executive director and program officer, senior vice president for content and media at a major public media organization, and president and managing director of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. In addition, Lutman co-founded and edited the leading publication in the arts and cultural grantmaking field nationally, the Grantmakers in the Arts Reader. Currently she is an independent consultant and entrepreneur. Lutman served as a Center management panelist in 2011 and she visited the Center in early 2013 to consult with music professionals from the Philadelphia area on their current and upcoming projects.
