Ralph Lemon, Artistic Director of Cross Performance, is a dancer, choreographer, writer, and visual artist dedicated to cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary work. In 2012, he received one of the first Doris Duke Performing Artist Awards. Lemon is the recipient of a 2009 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship; a 2009 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Work; and a 2005 New York Dance and Performance "Bessie" Award in recognition of The Geography Trilogy. Lemon also worked with 2013 Pew Fellow Raphael Xavier during the planning process for his project The Unofficial Guide to Audience Watching Performance, which received a Discovery grant from the Center in 2012. In 2012, he served as a Center dance panelist and an LOI panelist.
