Nette Compton is deputy director of Parks for People for the Trust for Public Land in New York City, where she oversees and coordinates national urban park programs and initiatives including creative placemaking, design quality, sustainability, green infrastructure and climate change. She previously served at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation as director of green infrastructure and senior project manager for sustainability. A registered landscape architect, Compton is former president of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) New York Chapter and a member of ASLA's national policy committee. Compton received her BS in landscape architecture and plant sciences and MS in urban ecology from Cornell University. In 2016, she served as a Center panelist in Exhibitions & Public Interpretation, and in 2018, she served as a Center LOI panelist.
