Namita Gupta Wiggers is director and chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Craft (formerly Contemporary Crafts Museum & Gallery) in Portland, OR. She developed the curatorial vision for the museum during its expansion, relocation, and re-opening in 2007. Wiggers' projects for the museum have included New Embroidery: Not Your Grandma's Doily, and development of the Generations series, which focused on the museums collection and the history of craft in the Pacific Northwest. She has worked in several museums in Houston, taught film studies at Columbia College, Chicago, conducted research for E-lab, a product design firm, and produced a line of sterling jewelry sold through galleries. She has published articles on museum education and art in The Journal of Museum Education, Artlies, and Metalsmith. Wiggers is a contributor to the Center's 2013 publication Pigeons on the Grass, Alas: Contemporary Curators Talk About the Field. She served as a Center exhibitions panelist in 2009 and an exhibitions LOI panelist in 2012.
