Lynne Ireland is deputy director at the Nebraska State Historical Society. She is a member of the steering committee of the History Relevance Campaign, the former chair of the Council of the American Association for State and Local History, and serves as secretary of the Nebraska Museums Association. Ireland is an accomplished writer on history and food, having co-authored Museum Administration: An Introduction with Hugh Genoways, as well as contributing to The Neligh Mills Cookbook, and writing "Seasoned to Taste," a weekly column published by the Lincoln Journal Star. She studied at Nebraska Wesleyan University, received her MA in American Folk Culture from SUNY Oneonta's Cooperstown Graduate Program, and was adjunct professor in the graduate program in museum studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1992 to 2004. In 2016, Ireland served as a panelist in Exhibitions & Public Interpretation.
