Kristina Newman-Scott is the inaugural executive director for The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at New York Public Radio/WNYC. Her past leadership positions include serving as president of BRIC, an art and media organization in Brooklyn, director of culture for the State of Connecticut, and director of programs at the Boston Center for the Arts. She currently serves as chair for the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission and serves on the boards of National Arts Strategies (chair), Americans for the Arts (secretary), and the Brooklyn Arts Council. Newman-Scott's awards and recognitions include being named one of City and State New York’s “Telecommunications Power 50,” one of Observer’s “NYC Arts Power 50,” and a Next City “Urban Vanguard.” She is a recipient of the Selina Roberts Ottum award from Americans for the Arts and was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts by the University of New Haven, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in 2018.
