Violinist Jennifer Koh has performed worldwide with leading orchestras and conductors, and she is on the faculty at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. An advocate of music education for children, Koh created the "Music Messenger" outreach program, and is on the board of directors of the National Foundation for the Advancement for the Arts. In 2009 she debuted "Bach and Beyond," a series exploring the history of solo violin repertoire. Koh has won both the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and the Concert Artists Guild Competition, and is a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant. She records regularly for the American Cedille label, and her album String Poetic was nominated for a Grammy Award. She served on the Center's music panel in 2009.
