Christopher Rountree is the founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Los Angeles-based classical music ensemble Wild Up and artistic director of SILENCE, an interdisciplinary ambient music series. In 2019 he curated and conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s FLUXUS Festival, the experimental music component of the Phil’s 100th season in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute. He has presented compositions and concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Palais Garnier, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Lincoln Center for the New York Philharmonic’s Biennial. As a conductor, he has collaborated with a number of notable artists, orchestras, and ensembles, including Björk, Yoko Ono, David Lang, the San Francisco Symphony, Opéra national de Paris, and the Martha Graham Dance Company. Rountree served as a Performance panelist at the Center in 2019.
