Andrea Grover

Andrea Grover is the Century Arts Foundation curator of special projects at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY, where she is initiating new models for temporary and off-site exhibitions. She received the prestigious Emily Hall Tremaine Exhibition Award in 2014; was a 2013 Center for Curatorial Leadership Fellow; and in 2010, was awarded a Warhol Curatorial Fellowship, the outcome of which was the 2011 publication New Art/Science Affinities. Co-authored with Claire Evans, Régine Debatty, Pablo Garcia, and the design collaborative Thumb, the publication profiled over 60 contemporary artists working in maker culture, hacking, artistic research, citizen science, and computational art—and later evolved into a corresponding exhibition, Intimate Science (2012). Grover has curated film programs for both the Dia Art Foundation and The Menil Collection, and she was the founding director of Houston's nonprofit cinema Aurora Picture Show from 1998 to 2008. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a BFA from Syracuse University, and has studied at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design. In 2015 and 2016, she served as a panelist in Exhibitions & Public Interpretation.
