Adam Lerner is the Mark G. Falcone “MaFa” director and chief animator of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Denver. Previously, he was the founder and executive director of The Laboratory of Arts and Ideas at Belmar, an experimental art institution located outside of Denver, until The Lab merged with MCA Denver in 2009. He was the master teacher for modern and contemporary art at the Denver Art Museum from 2001 to 2003, and he served as the curator of the Contemporary Museum, Baltimore, before moving to Colorado. Lerner received his PhD from Johns Hopkins University and his MA from Cambridge University. In August 2010, he participated in a curatorial roundtable at the Center, along with Mark Allen of Machine Project, Los Angeles, to discuss methods of audience engagement. Lerner served as the Center's Pew Fellowships panel chair in 2018 and 2011.
