InterAct is committed to producing socially and politically relevant work for theater. The company's decision to award 20 new play commissions over six seasons is evidence of its commitment to new work, as is InterAct's founding membership in the National New Play Network, an alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays. The Center has supported InterAct's strategic planning to build partnerships with local organizations that will enhance its impact, and helped it reimagine the Adrienne Theater—the venue where InterAct, alongside several other performing companies, makes its home. The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, given one of its earliest productions at InterAct, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
