Literature
Nathalie Anderson is a poet and librettist. She is also the Alexander Griswold Cummins Professor of English Literature and the director of the creative writing program at Swarthmore College. Her books include Stain, Quiver, Crawlers, and Following Fred Astaire, as well as the chapbook Held and Firmly Bound. She has authored libretti for four operas: The Black Swan, Sukey in the Dark, an operatic version of Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Scandal in Bohemia, and The Royal Singer, a children’s opera. Her poetry has received awards and recognition from the Joseph Campbell Society, The Cumberland Poetry Review, Inkwell Magazine, Nimrod, and North American Review, among others, and her work has appeared in publications including The New Yorker, Paris Review, Southern Poetry Review, and Spazio Humano.
