Marco Roth (b. 1974) is an essayist, literary critic, and a founding editor of n +1 magazine, a twice yearly printed journal of literature, politics, and culture. The Scientists, his debut memoir and "family romance" published in September 2012, has received copious media attention from the New York Times, The Guardian, and many other publications in the United States and the U.K. BOMB magazine reviewed the book as "beautifully sharp" and Publisher's Weekly called it a "powerfully forlorn debut memoir." His essays and reviews have appeared in such publications as the New York Times, The Nation, the Times Literary Supplement (U.K.), and inter alia, among others. Roth was recently appointed assistant professor of literary studies at Eugene Lang College, The New School, New York. He earned his B.A. from Columbia University, New York, and he is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Yale University, New Haven, CT.
