Terence Nance is an artist, musician, and filmmaker whose work includes the semi-animated feature An Oversimplification of Her Beauty, the Peabody Award-winning HBO series Random Acts of Flyness, and the genre-straddling 2022 album V O R T E X. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2014 and a United States Artist Fellowship in 2018. BlackStar Projects’ Terence Nance: Swarm, presented at the ICA, is the first solo exhibition of the artist’s interdisciplinary work.
