Patricia Wellenbach is the president and CEO of Please Touch Museum, a role she has held since 2016. Wellenbach spoke with the Center about the Museum’s exhibition America to Zanzibar: Muslim Cultures Near and Far, a project supported by a 2017 Project grant. On view through September 2, 2019, the exhibition combines art, technology, performance, and interactive programming to introduce families to local and global Muslim communities and culture.
In 2016, Philadelphia Mayor James Kenney appointed Wellenbach to the Mayor’s Cultural Advisory Board. She has been honored with numerous awards, including the Women of Tomorrow Distinguished Leader award and the Girl Scouts Take the Lead award, the St. Francis Medallion for excellence in service to the community, and the Benjamin Rush Award from the Philadelphia Medical Society, which recognizes laypersons from the Philadelphia region who have made outstanding contributions to the health and welfare of citizens of the United States. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Women Corporate Directors, the Forum of Executive Women, and the Pennsylvania Women’s Forum.
