Nora Quinn is the Director of Theatre Programs at the National Constitution Center, where she has led the creation of the museum’s theater programming since 2003. Quinn spoke to the Center about the Constitution Center’s new production FOURTEEN. Supported by a Center Project grant, the theatrical performance sheds new light on the Reconstruction era and the ratification of the 14th Amendment.
Quinn’s work includes directing, dramaturgy, design, acting, teaching, and theater management. She has presented on the integration of theater in museums at national and international conferences and consults on theater and arts education for museums and other community-focused educational institutions. Her work bridges traditional museum exhibitions and historical content creating common experiences addressing essential constitutional questions.
Quinn has taught at Arcadia University, Community College of Philadelphia, and the University of the Arts. In 2011, she was named one of Philadelphia’s Top 76 Creative Connectors by Leadership Philadelphia. Quinn is a member of the Actors Equity Association, American Association of Theater and Education, and the International Museum Theatre Alliance. She holds a BFA from Penn State University and a MA from Villanova University, both in Theater Arts.
