Hazami Sayed is the founder and executive director of Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, which she began with the launch of a language and cultural day camp in July 2002. Sayed received her BA in economics from Stanford University and master of architecture from Columbia University, and previously worked in the fields of architecture, urban development, and photography in Philadelphia and New York City. In 2012, she received the Leeway Foundation's Transformation Award, which is given to female artists in the Philadelphia-area who are committed to art-making for social change.
