Brendan Fernandes is a visual artist and choreographer whose projects address issues of race, queer culture, migration, protest and other forms of collective movement. His work has been presented at the Whitney Biennial, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, and The Getty Museum, among others. He currently teaches art theory and practice at Northwestern University. In 2023, Fernandes created Returning to Before, a dance piece presented in the gallery space of the Barnes Foundation's William Edmondson: A Monumental Visionexhibition.
