Astria Suparak is an independent curator and former director and curator of Carnegie Mellon University's Miller Gallery. During her tenure at Miller Gallery, she curated the internationally touring Yes Men retrospective, Keep It Slick: Infiltrating Capitalism with the Yes Men, organized the "Contestational Cartographies" symposium, and co-curated the exhibitions Alien She, Whatever It Takes: Steelers Fan Collections, Rituals, and Obsessions, and the 2011 Pittsburgh Biennial. She has curated exhibitions, screenings, live music events, and performances for art spaces, film festivals, and academic venues internationally., including PS1, Museo Rufino Tamayo (Mexico City), The Kitchen, Eyebeam Art+Technology Center, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and The Liverpool Biennial 2004. Suparak co-edited the January 2018 issue of INCITE Journalof Experimental Media, titled Sports. From 2006–07, Suparak was the director of Syracuse University's Warehouse Gallery, and served as director of the Pratt Institute Film Series from 1997–2000.Suparak is a contributor to the 2013 Center publication Pigeons on the Grass, Alas: Contemporary Curators Talk About the Field. In 2018, she served as a Center LOI panelist in Performance.
