Amy Sadao is the Daniel W. Dietrich, II Director at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) at the University of Pennsylvania. Appointed in 2012, Sadao has overseen ICA's 50th anniversary season and recent presentations of Nicole Eisenman, Ruanne Abbas and Basel Abou-Rahme, Jayson Musson and Pew Fellow Alex Da Corte, and the Center-funded exhibitions, Barbara Kasten: Stages and the upcoming Endless Shout. Sadao is a respected contemporary art writer, juror, and lecturer. Before assuming the directorship of ICA, she served for 10 years as executive director of Visual AIDS in New York City. She has been the recipient of several awards, including the 2014 ArtTable New Leadership Award, and she has been named a Women in the Arts Leader by Christine Quinn, Speaker of the New York City Council. She serves on the board of directors of Denniston Hill, an artist-run nonprofit in upstate New York, and is a director emeritus of Visual AIDS.
